I should be doing a critical dissertation review

Which is obviously why I decided to blog instead. I've decided I'm allowed 20 more minutes of internet surfing, then I have to at least have a stab at this sodding review. I'm definitely not looking forward to it at all. Oh well, must press onwards to get this first that I've decided I would like, so the work has to go in somewhere right?

Anyway, exciting things have occurred today, exciting for me anyway. First up, I had the most amazing night's sleep last night. I was genuinely asleep before 00:00 I reckon, and woke up at 08:30 for my 10:00 meeting. So that was lovely, didn't even shower because I was getting a hair chop later on so figured they'd sort my hair for me.

Meeting went well, decided that we're doing a "Wonder Room" for this NUSA thing (a qualification that the uni are offering as part of a module, it also adds 10 credits to the degree and means we may get paid fieldwork in the summertime! And we were going to Southwell again anyway!) Decided that I'm going to do Roman Ritual and Religion as my theme, so I need to get all read up on that and pick out some of the more amazing stuff. I've also got to sort my posters and my pictures and all sorts of other stuff (lots of work this term)

THEN I GOT A HAIR CUT. I decided on Monday that I wanted a fringe cut in. I made a pretend one that looked like this:
gawjus

it ended up looking like this
:)
I like it. And then I had noodle bar, and that was the day that was.

HEY BUDDY

It's valentine's day today! I know a lot of people have a lot of opinions towards valentine's day, mainly because I've been subjected to these opinions all fucking day. Here are my thoughts on valentine's day:

*tumbleweed*

Yes, that is correct. I am entirely neutral towards the festival to be perfectly honest with you. Literally the worst thing about valentine's day is people and their bleeding opinions. How about if you disagree with it, this is just a thought mind you, try and treat it just like any other day. Because let's face it, for a lot of people, myself included, it is just that. Just another Tuesday in our calendar year. And therefore not actually directly harmful to you or your kin.
Here I am, writing about valentine's day. I swore I wouldn't do it, but I seem to be able to actually concoct logical sentences about the subject, who knew?
Basically my beef is with people with beef. I do not, here, refer to this kind of beef though.

So guys, this is a steak bouquet

Yep, the butcher figured "Lady GaGa did it with a dress, I'll do flowers!" to be fair, it is the most logical conclusion to come to.

Exams were over ages ago, probably around the time I stopped blogging properly (I've had an odd couple of weeks) But that was then, and this is now and I have all my results back. Yeah, okay they weren't the best run of results ever, I'm averaging around 62% with a couple of 53% marks bringing me down a little. GOTTA FLY, WILL FINISH LATER.

Okay, left at 18:30, back for 22:22. Yeah, I was chatting about my exam results. As I said, I could definitely do a lot better, but considering my revision habits this term, the fact I passed all of my modules is truly quite stunning. Congratulations to me. I got those back yesterday, and life has spiralled out of control since then. This is a very melodramatic statement. But some things happened and it put me in a bad mood for a grand total of 10 minutes after we got back from the cinema.
These are the things that happened. some where good, others less so:
Walked to campus, saw a jay on cripps hill, saw two pigeons having a bath in a pond, and a squirrel eating a nut in a low branch of a tree.
20 minute meeting to be told "go find another book with better artefacts" and had to photocopy a bunch of these pages for people, though my group for the most part are pretty easy to get along with.
Walked home.
Hurt foot in doing so.
Period pains.
Booked hairdressers.
Had caesar salad.
Sainsbury's shopping.
Unloaded shopping, tried to make small second lunch.
Toast and Peppa Pig spaghetti (YES IT EXISTS!!!!)
Someone had been arsing about with the toaster, so I cremated the bread accidentally and got angry.
Tried to scrape off burn, ended up tossing the slices (And it was tiger bread)
Angrily tried to cut self new piece. Sliced finger open instead.
Ate spaghetti, bread (yeah I finished cutting it eventually).
Desperate Housewives.
Underground Rebel Bingo tickets bought.
Cinema.
Ribs.
Very intense foot pain. VERY INTENSE.
Bad mood.
Stubbed toe.
Chuntering to myself.
Upstairs to sort papers and chat with Poppy.
Finish blog with shitty list because I cba.

I'm sorry, like I said, poor mood. Not quite right for blogging. And I say poor mood, don't be alarmed. It's by no means a bad mood, it's probably top-end average for most people, but relatively with comparison to my normal mood it's not the best ever.

I wanna curl up in bed now, which I will do soon. Early night for Louise! Will be super refreshed in the morning, and hopefully whatever ails my foot will have disappeared :)

Friday, 3 February 2012

Aw look, seeing as I've just posted a link to this blog on my tumblog I thought I would do you guys a wee update. No, that isn't an update on my wees (although I did just go, how exciting!) it's just a little update because I've not re-heeeeally got that much to tell you. It's friday. I've missed 3 hours of lectures this week, and it's only first week so that really isn't very good, is it?

Yep, missed 2nd Rise and Origins of Aegean Civilisation lecture yesterday at 13:00 to come home and try to sleep off the massive brain-fog I had going on (not too sure if it was all that successful) and then ordered Pizza Hut, with special request to knock a tune on the door (HE ACTUALLY DID IT TOO!) and settled down to watch Bridesmaids, which I have to say is BLOODY HILARIOUS. Favourite scene, gotta be the food poisoning one, especially at the end when Lillian is in the middle of the road. HERE'S A TASTER (if that's what you wanna call it, considering the content.)
don't worry, it's not graphic!

I meant to have an early night last night as I'm going to London to see Charlotte for her birthday in a couple of hours! But ended up awake till 02:00 :( that however, was not the reason for me missing my 2 hour lecture on Archaeological Ceramics, I blame that entirely on the Nottingham Transport system, not one, but two number 34 buses passed me at the stop and refused to pick me up. Too full you see, and I'd left it too late to get over to campus, I would have been about forty minutes late or something ridiculous. (that's a lie, I'd have been half an hour late at most...) But yeah, I didn't go to that one either, three 9ams in a row was just too much for me to handle I guess.

Now I'm just sat in my room, mostly chilling, stressing a little about London, especially as Charlotte hasn't text me back to say she'll get me from the train station, potentially very awkward if I just end up stood in St Pancras for 3 hours waiting. YOU BETTER NOT LET ME DOWN BUDDY. God knows you've done it before. Maybe not quite on this magnitude, but fingers crossed all will go well. And I won't get mugged/killed/raped/end up addicted to crack and selling myself on the mean streets of London. I need to go rescue my jeans from the dryer/put them in for another hour. We'll see. Then I might have a nap, so I'm not knackered tonight. Should be good really, I'm excited.

AND I NEED TO REMEMBER TO POST THIS LETTER, AND BUY SOME SHERRY FOR PRE-DRINKS. Ahah, yes, I drink sherry, I am in fact an eighty year old woman. I smell like mothballs and L'Air du Temps.

This is a stupid post, sorry guys, my coherency has dropped somewhat, I wonder why...

Monday, 30 January 2012

Good Morning, all

...if we can call it that. Today is of course Monday, 30th January, and thereby my first day back at lectures for the year 2012. Well, wow; hasn't time just completely flown by? I've just had a full week off university, and I can say quite honestly that I need another week at least. I'm in quite the paradox you see, because I find that I get unfeasibly bored when I've got nothing to do. As I lamented yesterday "I need a hobby other than sleeping!!", a statement that's definitely true, after I went to bed at 5AM, got up for an hour at 13:30, then went back to sleep till 17:30; culminating the evening's festivities with a very early 22:45 bedtime. I was tuckered out man, too many late nights and too much fun to be had.

It's been a busy weekend, picking up a friend on Friday afternoon, houseparty Friday night, housemates' friends/significant others over for the weekend. It's been pretty crazy, so I guess looking at it that way, the sleeping wasn't that much of a bad thing. I was just trying to save my brain from permanent neurological trauma (not because the visitors are traumatic, just because it's a lot of people to be spending time with.)

I was meant to go see War Horse with everybody last night, but one-by-one people flaked out on me, so I ended up in the attic watching Johnny English 2 and perusing my housemate's new youtube channel. The channel created solely to house videos he and his friends found amusing. It's a pretty good idea really, I might have to have a playlist on my channel too. I may even make a new channel, mine has such a lame username. I'll maybe look into changing the name first, because I have a lot of video views I don't want to lose (I need all the ones I can get really).

Have a couple of links, I'm sometimes relatively amusing on one or both of these mediums.

And that is all for now! Au revoir, Goslings.

Ok, to sound whiney

No-one comments at all? Or follows.
Does anyone even look at this drivel or am I just talking to myself?

THE INTERNET IS LONELY.

I LOVE GERMS

I know that's a weird title, but I couldn't think of anything so that's what's written on the mug of tea I just finished.

Ahoy mateys, I have got a right treat in store for you guys today; so batten down the hatches and lash your socks to your ankles for I have a fairly lee-heeengthy photoset coming up right after this note from our coordinator (flashes dazzly tele-sales smile).

Basically my friend and I went into lovely, lovely Nottingham (so lovely I put it twice) yesterday to go shopping. We've finished our exams, and get frightfully bored sitting round watching people play Skyrim, noblest of games (heh, super). Essentially we just thought, "well, we've shit-all to do, we went food shopping yesterday, let's go fun shopping today!" And so we did. Now I'm not saying money can buy you fun, but money can almost certainly buy you fun. Or it can at least make sure that you don't go into a swoon when you make the very sensible, executive decision to buy a pair of jeans in Topshop a size down from the pair you got a mere two months previously at £36 a pop.
AVAST! ye slobberin' sea dogs, behold the swag!
£20 Boots voucher spent. Wearing the purple one now, looks neat.

Fancy-dress dress for tomorrow, sexy Zebras or what.

New skinnies :) Topshop £36 (luv u student discount)

Monsoon shorts, £10.50 in the sale!!!!!!1212!!1!!!"!1!

These bad boys set me back about £60 in total. Sheesh, bitchez be trippin', I got cash to burn clearly. Not that I would burn it, that would be most unwise.
Anyway, as my friend pointed out on our little ramble about Lenton Rec this afternoon, it was such a serene shopping experience. We both got really lovely stuff (she hit Monsoon in a big way, summer dress and little black skirt? yes plz. And that holey top, holy holey Topshop top.), and when we tried on stuff that looked shit, or didn't fit right, it was just funny. Rather than emotionally devastating as shopping can sometimes be.

And we put in the bitchingest meal ever at lunch time, slow cooked pork with leeks, celery, sweet potato, pepper, onion, mushroom and carrot. Has there ever been a more veg filled pot bubbling merrily away in that kitchen? I sincerely doubt it. I am looking forward to tucking into that SO BLOODY MUCH. I can't even convey my excitement to you to be perfectly frank.

Aight, gonna hit up ma vlog, which you can catch here and then settle into a book I think, I haven't read for a fair while really! Shameful I know.
Also here's my twitter. I sometimes post things that are bare hilars.

And I just remembered. Please bear in mind that the way I talk on my blog isn't necessarily how I would type or talk in a conversation. I'm being funny because it's bare hilars.

A duck walked up to a lemonade stand...

Here's the video for THAT song:

I love this little guy, I showed my friend the video once and he referred to it as "the most atrocious thing he'd ever witnessed" so if you haven't seen it, check it out! But of course, as always there is an ulterior motive. That's right, I re-found the game "Lemonade Stand" and have been playing it on and off since 10pm yesterday. It is SUCH A COOL GAME and one that my housemate and I have attributed our increased swearing to; be warned, it can make you quite irate!
I thoroughly encourage you to play though, the first 2 times I did yesterday I bankrupted myself... I forgot you could charge a fair ol' whack for a little glass of lemonade.
give them bitches lemonade, bitchez love lemonade
Yeah, I've been quite preoccupied with this, especially last night when it pretty much became the best thing I'd ever encountered in my life ever. Like I said, it's the kind of game that can make you a little tetchy though, so unless you've got an amazing control over your potty-mouth then don't play near little kids!
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YUCK, YOU'RE STILL BUYING IT MUTHAFUCKAS. BOLLOCKING TITWANKS I'M OUT OF ICE" that kind of stuff...

We've been to Sainsbury's this afternoon to grab provisions for the week ahead and do you know how expensive stuff is now?! £1.95 for a bag of peppers! I swear to god they used to be £1, and you could get 3 for that price, now it's all two quid for stuff and I just don't like it. There's something really lovely about buying veggies, or anything for that matter, that's one singular pound. We also bought a tonne of baking ingredients because it's one of the housemate's birthdays, we're baking a cake! Come Saturday this house will be literally bouncing with guests and happiness and ganache. You just wait.

I am so, so, SO sorry.

I know I've not updated in bloody ages, and like I said I'm really sorry (admittedly I'm mostly sorry because that means I have an absolute shittonne to talk about in this, unless of course I just gloss over any massive details...) but I've had quite a lot on pretty solidly for the past week or so.
Bam bam baaamm, yep, you guessed it, university exams. They were quite the trial I assure you. I had one on the 17th, one on the 19th and then my final one, today, only finished 2 hours back. We're meant to be partying hard tonight, but somehow I doubt that that is going to happen, as I'm currently sat blogging with a cup of tea, watching my hunched up housemate play Skyrim (please note, he's hunched because the telly is little, he's not a hunchback or anything drastic like that). What party animals we are, eh?

But the semi-disappointment about partying aside, bearing in mind I'm not actually upset by the lack of celebrations, I am in such a stunning mood it is untrue. Just it seems to me like everything is going swimmingly at the moment, and I'm so unbelievably happy with the life I've got and the people in it that I could just gush endlessly (verbally, not like, in a weird ~~gushy~~ way). Ah, contentment, u r so contenty. In addition to the exams finally being over, I got a bunch of coursework back that I did towards the end of last term, and whilst the results were variable, from 55% to 81% but with a 63% average I think I'm doing a-ok to be perfectly honest! I guess I just need to pull my socks up when it comes to the end of year exams and also my other essays this term. I am feeling so incredibly awesome about everything, that I am going to go on WebCT right this second before typing that bit about right this second  and look at my new modules! How exciting!

Oh goodness, that reminds me. At the end of my previous exams we just handed in our answer books and left, so in this one, I had 10 minutes left at the end so I drew a tortoise saying "Well that was an exciting exam" and a little bumble-bee saying "Buzz off!" and then my heart SANK when the invigilator said to put our question sheets into our answer booklets before handing them in. What a nightmare! Ah well, I hope they like the picture, it was pretty awesome after all.

Now I'm just sat, still watching Skyrim. My feet are absolutely frozen if I'm honest with you, I need a piss and I want some food I think. That's all I can think of for now, I promise I'll attend to the blog more in future.

Friday, 20 January 2012

I know I've been rubbish at updating, but I'll do you an update after/whilst I'm having my tea

I'm sorry for neglecting you! Thanks everyone that's been checking in with the blog still and leave me a comment/follow the blog if you fancy it.

:)

ah, landlords, aren't they a real treat?

Here is a short story entitled "What the actual Hell?":
'Twas a midwinter eve, and all through the house
Clothes were strewn everywhere, too large for a mouse
I think that's efficiently set the mood, this is the Nottingham Fairy-tale; you don't appreciate crime until it (almost) happens to you, and happen it did.
On the 27th December, sat downstairs in the dining area, my housemate notices a shadowed figure going into next door's house, obviously he can't go jumping the gun, it might just be a neighbour. But 10 minutes later, here comes the shadowy bastard again, wheeling out the neighbour's bike with two bags, one on the handlebars and one slung across him. A conundrum arises, what would you do? Would you confront the burglar, knowing there's full well a chance that he's armed, he's clearly criminal- criminal enough, I hasten to add, to break into a contractor's lock up with a host of keys inside and then systematically clean out the largely vacant student houses.
My housemate does the bravest thing, he cracks a window and challenges the robber. In his own, kind of cool but very "him" way,
"You don't live there do you mate?"
"Yeah... uh, I know the guys that live here, I'm picking up them stuff they said I could borrow."
"You don't know them do you? Put the stuff down"

And he does, he throws the bike and the bag on the handlebars down in the yard and gallops off.

I know I sound like I'm gushing, but he's a hero, my housemate. I don't know if I'd have been able to do that, he ran to the front door to see if he could catch the guy, ringing the police at the same time, god knows a crisis increases his efficiency tenfold. I'm under no illusion that if he hadn't been so quick off the mark, and enabled the contractor to get the locks changed, way more houses would have been burgled. That kind of shit can ruin people's lives, make them scared to be in their own house, and he helped prevent that for however many people.

Anyway, the mention of the locks brings me back round to the present problem, this happened on the 27th of December, our contractor came and changed the locks on the same day but unfortunately our lock isn't the right size for our door, and locks with a key on both sides which is illegal in a rented property. In addition to this, we were only given two keys between six housemates, admittedly not everyone is moved back in. But when I got to the rental shop on Tuesday 10th I was told that "We have got all the keys for that street except yours". By some magical twist of fate, the housemate with the keys was in the Subway two doors down from the shop. So I managed to get all my stuff moved in without too much of a hitch, but it then becomes apparent that we were meant to have a lock with a twist-lock mechanism fitted that morning. Didn't happen clearly, still only had two keys. "We're having someone come round on Saturday morning to fit the new lock."
"You said that about today. Our lock is illegal."
"Yes we're very sorry about that, we'll get it sorted Saturday"

Of course I'm sat here, Saturday afternoon, not a singular locksmith has been in sight. Not one. I've also left it too late to ring the landlords and give them a bollocking for lying to us again, so I've left messages and an email and I just hope to god it gets sorted out soon.

I've gone and got 5 new keys at my own expense, but fear not, I'll be sending Reed the receipt and they will be reimbursing me. And sorting the goddamn lock.

I took some photos on my way to Sainsburys to get the keys done, so we'll end with those. This is my Nottingham:
brownfield and towers near the house

My dominion, we call the towers "Chernobyl", they're bleak

The Marina!

oh, and I've been pissing about with my camera today, so have some pictures

Here's a wine-red, calfskin clutch I got the other day, it's soft :)

my babies, sennheiser headphones are the bizniz

in one of my more chipper moments today, I call this the crazy oddball duckface

Mein darlings

I fear I have nothing much to say for today so you'll have to endure some rather dry rememberings of the trollishly boring day I've had today.

I woke up mid afternoon today, I can't say I remember precisely what time, but I rather think it was at the very earliest approaching the four pm mark. A feat in itself one would imagine, would one not? Alas no, my concept and grasp of time slipped somewhat last night I'm afraid, living the high life takes it's toll somewhat (as I have experienced for a proportion of my waking hours,.. hanging). But according to legend, legend being my sober flatmate, I came downstairs to collect my precious things- i.e. my phone and laptop- at around 05:00. Wow, well here's something, that kind of staying power is more than a little reminiscent of my first year at university, a point which has been topic of conversation about twice in as many days. But this revelation means that I was up in the attic with my housemate for about 2 hours, maybe even three hours! I have recollections of insisting that he play the sloth crossing road "I believe I can fly" version.
Eegads what must he think of me now... well I imagine he probably doesn't feel any different to normal, my housemates are pretty aware that I'm a character of intrigue shall we say.

IT'S SO GOOD JUST WATCH IT JUST

So with that knowledge safely in hand I don't think 10 hours sleep is too excessive. Makes me feel less like a layabout, although I definitely still class as one I think... That's the most I've drank in ages! Well, since New Years', but before that! oh wait, Boxing Day. Ahaha, nevermind. I was trying to make the point that I got sociably drunk last night! I NEVER GET DRUNK WITH MY FRIENDS ANY MORE. I'd honestly forgotten that it's really quite good fun.

And I think that's about the only barely half-way interesting thing that I can think to tell you. Apart from the fact that I loathe and despise my internet conection with the burning passion of 1,000 casanovas and their 100,000 used and vengeful lays. How in hell am I supposed to enjoy a program when I have to pause it every five minutes to allow it to buffer; and further to that TWO HOURS to upload a two and a half minute video, TWO WHOLE ACTUAL HOURS, pray tell me how one is meant to vlog (or try to, I mean it's not like I'm any good at it but whatever, how can I improve if I can't bloody well upload?!) By no means do I wish death upon my connection, that would be worse than slow upload/download internet. But puh-lease, a little more usability would be siq.

GAH is all I have to say to that. Gah and BAH.

Here's a video I just made

and a link to my youtube account, please go have a look?

As promised, some pictures of my room

Some lovely pictures for your delectation and delight:

Here is my lovely lightshade
(Excuse these next two, I was messing round with the fisheye setting on my camera!)
Wardrobe (an old office cabinet with a rail on the inside), posters, photo collage, cutesie plant I can't remember the name of. Pretty standard.

Moar posterz, (dehumidifier plug), secksy window cover, FAIRY LIGHTS

Sexy, creaky double bed (not so much sexy as just creaky, would be a nightmare if sexy things ever happened on it!), crotcheted cushion, awesome hearts and various bits and bobs.

There you have it, my room in Nottingham. It's getting there. I wish they would strip off the nasty ass wood-chip wallpaper though. Bleurgh.

Guess who's back, back again

That's right, I'm back in Nottingham living the high life like I do. It's Wednesday evening, and there is a delicious texan BBQ Pizza Hut pizza winging it's way to me right this second. Bloody marvellous is what this is. I have my cup of tea, I have my space on the sofa and dinner is on it's way. You wouldn't think it could get any better than that, would you? WOULD YOU?!?!?! Well it can. The pizza is technically FIVE MINUTES LATE NOW, so my housemate and I are annoyed. But that's besides the point, yet again I have forgotton what I meant to talk about and gone off on a random rant because I have the hunger and the Pizza Hut delivery men are denying me! DENYING. Oh god, calm yo' tits, you crazy mare.

Yes, back to the main feature of the post. I have moved back to my little terraced house in Nottingham. Thankfully, contrary to my previous beliefs there are in fact people already here. I'm so glad, because I'm sat downstairs in the living room with them now, and we're not exactly having a full on socialising session but if they weren't here then I would be sat in my room, eating my hands or my feelings or maybe both, just not at the same time. But I'm back in, and I'm all unpacked and my room is looking pretty amazing. I managed to get everything tidied up and packed away the same day I moved back in, which must be a first in my books. It normally takes me till the week before I move out to get settled properly again, ahah. Me and my mother went to Dunelm Mill before I came to the house, and I got myself a lovely new light fitting, which has really brightened up the room, I'll edit a picture in later, but it's pretty much a tiny, chandelier-type thing, with strings of perspex jewels in red, purple and clear hung all around it so it casts a nice colour light into the room and jewelled patterns on the ceiling. It just lifts the mood of the room a load so I'm pretty chuffed with it.In addition to this I've been considering themes that I might like to have in there that could translate to a room at home, and I've decided to go for Van Gogh and Banksy as key artists, so I'm going to see if I can alight on any more Van Gogh paraphenalia and some Banksy stuff too, that means I'll have to rejig my other posters though, although I reckon I'll just see what looks good where when they come through.

Considering it now though, maybe I won't go for any more posters just yet, I think I've got five and a wall planner up at the moment, and though two of the posters and my window hanging are a little childish, maybe I'd be better saving the theme for my actual room at home (when we eventually manage to move house, hopefully mum's gonna make me a loft bedroom when it comes to it!)

Being back feels good already, nowhere near the stress I was anticipating, but saying that I always get unnecessarily stressed about things before they happen and they always end up okay, so this is no different to anything else in that respect. I have to say I struggled quite badly indeed whilst shopping for myself today, shamefully so in fact. I managed to spend just shy of £20 and only got two bell peppers and a bag of salad by way of vegetables. I just could not for the life of me remember what I needed to be able to feed myself. By having a pizza tonight I've freed up my indian snack selection and sausage tikka masala for tomorrow though. Shit, that reminds me I've got two sausages sat chilling in the fridge (yeah, chilling, in the "G" sense and literally) that need eating. Maybe I'll have chicken tikka for tea and have sausage, egg and beans for brunch... yeeeah, that could work.

It's almost 21:00 now, in 10 minutes anyway, but I don't feel like I've been particularly bored at all, bonus! I was a little scared of that before I got back.
Tomorrow I plan to wake up at 11, get out of the house before 12 and go to Timpsons in Sainsbury's to get a couple of keys cut for the front door, may as well seeing as Reed are going to reimburse us even though they're just interim keys while we get a new lock put in. Maybe I'll treat myself to a latte. I would go into town but I don't think I can face the walk just yet (christmas pog still slowing me down), babysteps are the key, methinks.

(My pizza came about 5 minutes after I stopped ranting about it, so I've been writing this for forever!)

(CRAZY disclaimer: the following post may include some instances of THE CRAZIES for which I apologise but I am a WOMAN ON THE EDGE OKAY)

Mes amis, I will not lie to you.
Tomorrow, or today if we're being technical, I am going back to my Nottingham house, and no exaggeration- I am shitscared. I always get like this just before I go back, thankfully this time it's been mere hours, rather than for the past week as has happened previously when I've been home. I'm comfortable here in sunny Yorkshire, bored admittedly, but oh-so comfortable. I don't have to feed myself, I don't have to transport myself, I don't have to socialise or work or sort out problems with the house. All that is waiting for me when I go back to Nottingham, this indepency that I so crave when I'm "stuck" here at home combined with my looming examinations and CRUSHING LONELINESS (ok slight exaggeration) means that I really am not too keen on the idea of returning. Also did I mention THE CRUSHING LONELINESS, yeah it's an exaggeration I'm not that desperate for a boyfriend or anything but yeah go out with me... I went off topic, I was meant to say I think I'm going to be in the house on my own for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Which can never, ever, EVER be fun. So I'm going to end up going mental and eating my own hands or something dramatic like that. Hopefully I'll revise but let's face it, my track record is not the best when it comes to academia and therefore, by extension, revision. It's unlikely I'll get anything of worth done. I'll most likely just watch a lot of crappy tv and play Sims 3 until my housemates come back to their crazy handless friend and have to nurse me back to relative sanity.

Look how sad and alone I am, so sad and alone the walls are grey and the floor is like a pool of salty tears and shattered dreams. (Note the lack of hands, I must have eaten them!)

it's ok Louise, you have the Golden Arches on your head

I'm going to sleep now, hopefully unconciousness will provide relief from this mental torment.

An update for the latter part of today

I've decided that I have to start jotting down things that are going to go on the blog before I start writing up a post, because as it is I'm pretty terrible for rambling and generally not making a right lot of sense, well Louise, that's pretty exciting news isn't it? No, basically not, but there you go, that's what I'm doing and you're all party to it, YAY! Jelly and ice-cream for everybody!

I forgot to say earlier that when I was in T K Maxx this afternoon, (imaginary) spending all my loan  in the homeware section, that there was a little boy stomping round after someone who I deduced to be his father. "Daaaaad." He whined. "Why are you so obsessed with flowers?!" and then went on to say something about the colour yellow... I thought that was adorable, but maybe that's just me. Though at the moment T K Maxx really is quite flowery, there's a lot of Port Merion crockery (totally just wrote cockery) in store at the moment; and I have to say,  if I hadn't just got my lovely Whittard's stuff then I'd have snapped some of that shit up, because it's really very pretty.

I believe I've located my blogsession as well, and I will be featuring it heavily come Tuesday when I get back to the house. It is: my university room. Considering I am meant to be living there until August 2013 I figure the room, the house and my life in Nottingham are something I can focus quite heavily on, as I have said before, this blog needs some kind of central point. Seeing as the room is a disgusting shit tip of vileness and damp I thought it'd be ideal as it can quite visibly improve. I'm really quite pleased I've managed to find something I genuinely want to talk about all the time. Maybe I'll even throw in a little archaeology for y'all, won't that be super fun?

So far today I've spent at least two hours looking for various pieces of furniture and decorative items for my university room. Including steamer trunks,

Louis Vuitton: way out of my price range, obviously
Ugh, even painted powder blue I love them

Last one, luv u bby
I've also been looking at art prints and posters, and I've decided on a theme for the pictures, Van Gogh and Banksy. I also think I might buy some heavy curtains and hang those, but that would mean rearranging my furniture I think (which is pretty limited considering the bed is fixed, as are the bookshelves). We shall see, we shall see. But nevertheless, I'm very excited about the whole thing, I'll let you know how that goes.

And I want a big print of Stubbs' Whistlejacket, but I've no idea where that will go.

hey hey hey hey heyheyh yeh hey heyh eyh heyh hey

Hey there guize. How are you?
I had a Burger King for lunch, just thought you'd wanna know seeing as that's really big news and all that. I had a chicken royale and a fanta with chips. It was pretty damn delicious. Then I went to games workshop to swap some paints over, we now have Hawk Turquoise, Red Gore and Snot Green. Don't they sound pretty?

Then I bought tampons for the imminent onslaught and went to T K Maxx to fawn over the trammel they have in there. Then I came home and packed to go back to university and did a vlog and that's about it. I'll take some pictures in a bit. Look forward to that, you lucky people.

Going to the York Panto today

so I'm going to post tomorrow, this is all you get for today bbz.
Sorry.
a sad kitten to show my sorriness

I'm going to start looking for jobs again.

I need to get back on the wagon somewhere after being shoved so roughly and rudely from it at the end of last term. Apparently I'm unemployable or something, and it's doing my nut. Although it's fair enough I guess, it's not like I've got any references or prior experience of a "proper" job, and it's not like they can glean what I'm like from an online application, is it? So, like I said, I think it's time for me to get a job. Otherwise I'll wind up in a year and a half's time with no job experience, a 2:2 at best and no prospects for the future, sat at home in Wakefield, ready to sponge off my mother for years.
I really don't want to be that person.
What I want is get a 2:1 and manage to get a job and save up; maybe not a gift of a job, but low down so I can work my way up through the ranks and really feel like I've achieved something. That's not to say anything on my life has been handed to me on a silver platter, but it's certainly been easier than hard so far, and I need to pull my finger out of my arse if I ever want to get anywhere.

My ultimate goal is to have a lovely little house, full of books and good movies and curios, the sound of my friends and the smells of good food and rich coffee. I know it's a cliche idea, but it's really what I want. And perhaps a dog or a rabbit to keep me company. I'm by no means ready to set up shop on my own yet, I'd get far too lonely I think. I struggle without company day-to-day as it is, but thankfully I've got a pretty solid network, and I'm so thankful for that. But yeah, a house and a job to keep me fed and watered and able to enjoy the little things. I don't want to have to struggle- I'm a creature of comfort you see.

Anyway, the crux of this post is to remind me that I do need to track down some form of employment, or volunteering. But paid preferably, as I said, I'm a creature of comfort.
